The motivational gift is usually something we think of as the personality gift we were born with, but it is generally understood that it is not sanctified for the Father’s use until we have been born again. The word sanctified means to be “holy or set apart”. If you look at the word motivate you can see the root of two words that have been put together, the words motion and action. Therefore it is our motivational gift that causes us to move and act in the way that we do.
1 Corinthians 12:4-6 Now there are varieties of gifts, but the same Spirit; 5 and there are varieties of services, but the same Lord; 6 and there are varieties of activities, but it is the same God who activates all of them in everyone. NAS
What are the seven motivational gifts?
We each have one dominant gift although we have all seven in part. We are to use the gift of God that he has given us to bring unity to the body. He gave us this gift so that we could more effectively do the work of the ministry and meet the needs of the body.
