Hi, I am Kathy Smith. I am currently a doctoral candidate at Vision International University and I have an Associates Degree in Nursing. I am an ordained minister with the Assemblies of God International Fellowship. I am the Communications Director for Vision International University and the Director of Vision Publishing.
Formerly from Ohio and North Carolina, I have lived in Ramona, CA since early 2012. I am an author, educator, and motivational speaker. I have been blessed to have had the opportunity to be published in numerous Christian magazines and publications. I have also appeared on Christian television and radio programs in Ohio. I travel frequently to teach and minister to local congregations in California, Ohio, West Virginia, and Austria. In 2015 I had the opportunity to minister to several congregations in Vienna and Strashoff Austria.
I have been writing since I was in the third grade and began by writing short fictional stories. As an adult, I first started writing children’s plays, Christmas musicals, puppet skits, and curriculum. The Christmas musical, “In Search of a Star” has been performed twice in local churches of Ohio. I also wrote the plays, “The Three King’s Kids” and “Guilty as Charged” which were performed by the youth of local congregations while I resided in Ohio
I began writing teacher’s resource books and articles in the early 1990’s for publishing companies and periodicals such as Group Books and for denominations such as the Assemblies of God and the Pentecostal Church of God of Joplin, Missouri. These articles appeared in: “Children’s Ministry Magazine,” “Church Recreation,”” Sunday School Counselor,” “Church Advocate,” “Evangelizing Today’s Child,” “The Youth Worker’s Encyclopedia of Bible Teaching Ideas, Old Testament” and “Grades 4 and up Fun To Learn Bible Lessons 20 easy-to-use programs” by Group Publishing. I wrote Adult Sunday School curriculum for Messenger College, affiliated with the Pentecostal Church of God Corporate Headquarters as well as others.
More recently I authored the books: Treasures of the Heart, The Gifts of the Trinity, Wisdom Speaks: Hearing Her Voice In A Noisy World, and a Guide for Effective Pastoral Care Ministry. Currently I am working on the book, Hospital Chaplaincy.
